Always check your threading when problems arise, user error accounts for the majority of all problems
Make sure thread is correctly falling in the Tension Assembly
Refer to your Owner's Manual for oiling instructions; put a drop of oil after every major project
Keep sharp needles in your machine, over time needles become bent and dull
Make sure that fuzz buildup is not impairing function. You can check this by removing the needle plate (usually two flat head screws, it is highly recommended that this be all you take apart).
Keep your machine out of moisture rich environments if at all possible
